Ministries

St. Patrick & Assumption All Saints Parish relies on the voluntary efforts of its members to create a vibrant faith community, to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of its parishioners, and to support the parish’s outreach to the broader community. In its various ministries, parishioners — selflessly and often anonymously — advance the Church’s message of hope and salvation and witness to God’s enduring love and commitment to His people.

Religious Education

The parish sponsors religious education for children in pre-Kindergarten through high school. The program includes preparation for the Sacraments of Holy Communion, Reconciliation, and Confirmation. For more information, visit the Contact page or phone the parish office (201-332-8600).

Eucharistic Ministers; Ministry to the Sick

In addition to assisting in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass, Eucharistic Ministers bring Communion to those who are sick or homebound. New Eucharistic Ministers are encouraged to participate in an archdiocesan program that deepens an appreciation for the importance of this ministry and emphasizes the reverence attached to handling and distribution of the Eucharist.

Lectors

Lectors assist the priest at Mass, proclaiming the Word of God in both Old and New Testament readings. Lectors are encouraged to participate in an archdiocesan program training new lectors how to read Scripture effectively and emphasizing the importance of the lector’s role in the Liturgy of the Word at Mass.

Altar Servers

Children of the parish in fourth grade and above are encouraged to assist the priest at Mass as altar servers. Some preparation is required. Interested students should contact Deacon Jesus Reyes for details.

Rosary Society

The parish’s Rosary Society encourages devotion to Mary through regular recitation of the rosary and a commitment to developing the spiritual life of the parish through the intercession of the Blessed Mother. For more information about the spiritual and social benefits of Rosary Society membership, contact Brenda Santana through the parish office (201-332-8600).

Ultreya

Ultreya is a program of spiritual formation for those who have completed a Cursillo retreat. Ultreyas gather every other Monday to pray, study, and reflect on Scripture. Those interested in Cursillo or Ultreya should contact Edgar Rodriguez through the parish office (201-332-8600).

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

Non-Catholics who wish to become Catholics or those wishing to be in full communion with the Church must complete the RCIA program. For more information, see the RCIA page or contact the parish office (201-332-8600).

Concert Series

For more than a quarter century, the parish has sponsored a series celebrating both sacred and secular music hosted in St. Patrick’s Church. For details on this year’s concert series, see the Special Events page.

Food Pantry

The parish supports a food pantry at Assumption Church, 344 Pacific Avenue, which is open the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 5:30-8:00 pm. Parishioners wishing to support this ministry are encouraged to drop off bags of food at St. Patrick’s or Assumption Church.
